The Hackett laboratory is involved in the application of computational quantum chemistry and molecular dynamics simulation, complemented by classic biological chemistry, to solve problems in enzymology, reactive intermediate chemistry, and drug discovery. The primary focus of the laboratory is cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymology, with particular emphasis on P450 enzymes that have been identified as targets for therapeutic intervention.
