A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, Virginia Commonwealth University. Research will focus on the development of small molecule inhibitors with potential utility in treating cancer and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease. The position requires participation in designing and execution of research projects, development of synthetic methodologies for preparation of biologically active agents. A Ph.D. in organic chemistry, synthetic medicinal chemistry or related area is required. Must have a strong experience in organic synthesis and associated techniques and be familiar with standard analytical methods including HPLC, NMR, and LCMS. Knowledge of molecular modeling is preferred.
